Super Sonico the animation
So I finally got to view the first episode of Super Sonico the animation. Not bad at all. Mostly character introduction. Opens with Sonico in bed and yes her body is amazing and, no she's not nude. However as the show progresses we discover the Sonico works part time as a model. Not too cartoonish and the animation is quite good. Overall on a scale form 1 to 10, (10 being best) I give it a solid 7 . Keep in mind that I have not seen any other episodes yet. I viewed it on YouTube and hope to see it on Netflix soon. Please let me know what your thoughts are on this and, if you know of a better place to see the other episodes please let me know as well.

I had high hopes for this anime. It was a surprise to hear that they would do a Super Sonico anime. After all, it's based on nothing more than an overly sexualized company mascot for Nitro+, it's not really all that hard to imagine the type of show they would come up with kind of character. However, when I learned that White Fox was in charge of the production, not to mention I was already a Super Sonico fan, my interest was piqued. White Fox was in charge of my personal favorite Steins;Gate, and that anime was critically lauded for it's thought out story line adaption of it's visual novel counterpart. Why wouldn't they do a good job on something as seemingly shallow as a Super Sonico anime?

Well, they did it. The show effectively carries a slice of life tone. While the fan service is there, it is significantly and purposely downplayed more than one would expect, allowing one to take in the story, or rather, the life of Super Sonico more at face value. She's just another college girl, trying to make her way in this world with a little help from her friends and cats. And the show does this all while not resorting to fanservice, but not ignoring Sonico's obvious sex appeal. The end result is quite satisfying and surprisingly better than I would have expected from an anime featuring a character like Super Sonico.

While all these praises go far, Super Sonico does have its faults. While the execution of the show is perfect, there are times when the Slice of Life aspect is TOO perfect. Sonico's personality is portrayed as pragmatic and influencing on many levels, but there is little to no character development present. Most characters other than Sonico, while realistically written can seem as nothing more than place holders in Sonico's world.

BOTTOM LINE: + Great presentation +Ok Slice of Life +Surprising good effort in making this show +realistic with an anime twist +really relaxing show

-pacing can seem a little slow -episodic format makes some episodes miles more interesting than others -music is ok, liked maybe one out of 12 insert songs -hard to relate with some characters

VERDICT : 7/10

note: this ended up being a lot longer than I originally intended... sorry

@ El Taco actually I have to thank you for that in depth assessment. I'm not much for reviews but yours was quite informative with one exception, you didn't clue me / us as to where you watched it. I could only find Episode 1 on You Tube. I really wish that Netflix would pick up the series.

Actually, you should be able to see the first season on Youtube play lists, but I caution that American data is slow since two months ago. The buffering is discouraging binge watching.
Recap of what I thought of Super Sonico:
I watched the first episode. It's really good if you enjoy glimpses of Japanese life and the life of a model. I enjoyed watching, but the pace of the plot didn't pick up the way that I'm used to and so.... It wasn't my cup of tea, but the animation was great, the backgrounds were fairly detailed, and it avoided cartooney shenanigans. But, I've never seen the Sony song editing software or other things leading up to Sonico-san, so my muse isn't around.

Addition:
I've watched through episode 5. I think that it is great even if you don't know the background to the creation of Super Sonico.
