I noticed the "commentary request" tag on a lot of hammer's stuff. Do we even have a commentary system?

No we do not, but because danbot pulls pictures, we just have the tag along with the picture.

I mean, we are running Gelbooru 0.2.0, while actual gelbooru and danbooru updates regularly, so we're behind in that regard, xD.

I think the 'commentary request' was a wrong tag to the correct tag, 'translation_request?'

No, commentary_request is where the artist (usually pixiv) makes a comment on his/her own picture and then when a booru site pulls the picture, they can include it along with the picture (this is done to give context to their work or just caption that is otherwise not included in the art itself). See some of danbooru's pictures, as they actually have a system for artist comments.

I know what the commentary system is. I've been to Danbooru a bit. In fact, I discovered Danbooru first. I started using Safebooru after I followed a link to an adorable Kogasa pic from TVTropes.
