Since Green's Western name is Blue, would that mean his Western starter Pokemon is blue as well?
If so, Pokemon Red's mascot would be for Western players like in the picture here. Eastern players get the starter color of their rival, Green, and the rival gets the starter color of the player, Red, like Yin and Yang basically.
