OBSERVATIONS:
Subject is responsive to auditory and visual stimuli, but has yet to act in a way that suggests advanced brain function. The lab techs have rather affectionately named it 'Felis', after taking notice of its cat-like eyes. The anatomy is other similar to that of a human; however, closer analysis of tissue samples allude to the presence of
unknown hereditary material. A hybrid of some sort, perhaps?

In the 48 hours since the subject has been in captivity, it has not consumed any food, only water.

Otherwise, it sits in a chair all day, staring at the same spot in the wall with the same empty expression.

The rest of the department is just about ready to give up on this specimen, and move on to another project.

I just can't shake the feeling that there's something hiding behind that mask of empty emotion. There's something in the eyes...something that seems like sadness.

Despair, perhaps? If only I could break through to her...
