Safe and Un-Safe "scale"
Hey, I've been viewing this site for a little while, and I'm happy I visited the forums.

I came here for some of the cooler bits of art here and there and made an account mostly just for the ability to blacklist tags. Seeing the topic title probably can tell you why.

Basically, I had the impression that this site was poorly curated/people didn't care. Now that I've looked at a few threads, I realize that you're just understaffed and you guys really do care, which is a happy surprise. Please keep up the good work, I appreciate it. Since you guys wanted help, I'm going to start flagging unsafe images I've seen.

There's only one problem: I'm still not 100% sure what is considered safe. On one end of the spectrum, some really suggestive images get a pass, but on the other end I feel like I'd be going flag-happy.

So, I have an idea: Why don't you guys make a visual "scale" on this thread? Basically, post a few images on the spectrum varying from "safe" to "definite removal". None of them have to be explicit - we know those aren't OK- but clearing up some of the gray area would really help.

If anyone does post links here, please make sure they're from a site like imgur where they won't be removed. Basically, I've seen threads where a person posts a link from safebooru and says "Images like this should be removed!", but when I go to look at the example it's already been removed.

Sorry for the long post.

I suppose it's OK to go a bit flag-happy, if we consider the "Flag for deletion" feature to mean something more like "Report to moderators for examination"?

Alright, if that's what I'm supposed to do, I'll use the rule of thumb that someone proposed on this forum: "If you wouldn't show it to your coworkers or family, flag it"

Please also see "Understanding Standards..."
See page 3. It will explain what is tolerable for Safebooru.
Here is the standard:

I'll pull 3 or so images from my favorites and make a kind of pool; I'm not sure that we have a tag definitions section. Thanks for taking the time to look through the forum. Like you read, we try to do as much as we can, but we do have a shortened staff. 2018 news can be read here:

Thank you very much, that should help.
