When trying to set blacklisted tags, I get this error:

"Illegal mix of collations (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation '='"

What causes this?

because somebody on the admin end didn't update the MySQL collation properly whenever they switched from utf8_general to utf8_unicode.

not to mention they should be using utf8mb4.

oh well, the site's backend is completely fucked.
