It's a pun!

Alex Meyers quite known Fighting Gamer in the US couldn't make it to top 32 in a tourney because he lost in the pools.
He worte, he drowned in the pools. PPl in the FC Community made few pictures about it.

(Street Fighter Sakura Player, he did even a good tutorial about her in SSF4/USF4)
