Produced in 1940-1945, the Volkswagen Kübelwagen type 82 served as the German military equivalent that the Jeep had for the allied US during World War II designed by Ferdinand Porsche. The type 82 was fitted and changed to comply with the needs of war, so there were numerous types of Kübelwagens that consisted of various ambulances as well as various models that used the Kübelwagen chassis, but utilized the Beetle's body instead. The car has a quite interesting history, but it's too long to describe here. Anybody interested I would recommend you to read the Wikipedia article, it's very interesting!!
