Teddy's owner might not have been the most creative person when it came to names, but he loved her all the same.

Was this why saying goodbye had to be so difficult?

He watched her-- a sophisticated lady, too old for toys-- stroll away for the last time.

Her last words echoed in his head.

"Teddy, I love you, and I know you love me. But someone else needs that love more than I do, so be a good bear and wait here until you find someone that you can be a better bear to, okay?"

Tch. Not like he could have very well moved on his own either way.

She loves me, he thought. She'll be back, because she loves me.

...Right?
