Freeza, nor Namek, nor Bulma died from a Spirit bomb; Shinron is dead; and Goku has little control in that body. Neither enjoy killing, but Hulk is compelled to fight... So the only real factor is who is caught in the fray.

Shinron is dead, Goku doesn't have his tail, he has significantly less control in that body, and Goku won't kill anything, but gets hyped up when innocents are in danger. Hulk is the opposite, he is compelled to fight and gets stronger the longer a battle goes on. This picture isn't right, it doesn't show that they're evenly matched. The only factor is the number of people that get pulled into the frey.
